Yesterday, Tammy and I went to the wineries with a group of girls that Tammy knows from Aiden's soccer team. (Yes, soccer moms...LOL) I shouldn't make fun b/c i know I'll be a soccer mom in a couple years when the Adelle and Myles are a little older. Here are a couple pics of Tammy and I from the day. Ok, I'm trying to be better about blogging or at least posting pictures. but, there is just no time. I think I have come to the reality that my life is on hold for a while. Maybe that's an exaggeration! But, really, there isn't much time after work and kiddos. And, the weekends seem to be filled with house chores and errands...I think I'm going to give in after the first of the year and pay someone to clean our house. We'll see. The first week of June, Tammy and I traveled to Maryland to visit our cousin, Shawn, and her family. Shawn was a bridesmaid in our wedding and Gaby, her daughter, was my flower girl. Tammy brought Ella and I brought Adelle. It was an amazing trip! We had such a fun visit. Shawn and David were such fabulous hosts. They have two daughter's, Gaby (8) and Julianna (almost 6). They were both so great with Adelle, especially Gaby. She was Adelle's little babysitter. Really, she was such a big help with Adelle. She made it so much easier on me, considering Adelle is now mobile. Julianna and Ella quickly became friends and played all weekend together. All the girls had such a great time, including me, Tammy, and Shawn....oh yeah, and David. I'm not sure how he survived all the estrogen in that house. But, he did. He's a fantastic cook! Friday night he brought home a bunch of fresh crabs. Oh man, they were good! Shawn made margaritas as well, which were AMAZING!!!! Saturday night, David made the BEST BBQed chicken. It was Carolina-style BBQ, which is my new favorite. I know he gave me the recipe. however, after a couple of those marguritas, I cannot remember it for the life of me. The only thing I remember for sure is vinegar. Anyway, we did more than eat on our trip ;) It rained for the first two days that we were there, which was perfectly fine. Their home was so enjoyable and relaxing, I condidered it a resort. Check out Shawn's blog...Life at Buttercup Farm. There are some beautiful photos of their home on the blog. It's a 100+ year old farm house that they have renovated for the last 13 years. The word "renovated" doesn't really due it justice!!!! It's on 4 acres and simply, beautiful. They have created a BEAUTIFUL HOME. Also, check out Shawn's post from June 5th....The Best House Guest. Yes, our little Adelle was the topic of Shawn's post that day...very cool!

Carol, our wonderful daycare provider for Adelle, emailed me the following today, "ok, today I laid Adelle down for her nap, she never cried, I didn't hear her so I went in to check on her, about 10 minutes later. this is what I found. It's Sunday morning and Adelle got up this morning about 7:00 a.m...not bad! We played, walked around the yard a couple times, and played fetch with MoJo with a log from the wood pile. And, yes, MoJo plays fetch with logs. I swear, he's a Lab stuck in a Boxer's body. Now, I'm the only one in the house that is awake, including the dogs. So, I have been tooling around on the computer and came across "20 Questions."

This installment of 20 Questions was found/borrowed/swiped from a blog that I came across on Steph's blog, "Someday I'll get there." I'm not big on these things, but I liked this one.

1. What are the names of the kids you used to babysit?
I can see their faces clear as day. But, I seriously cannot remember their names.

2. Do you prefer hot sandwiches or cold sandwiches?
Both. Hot in the winter and cold in the summer, generally.

3. What was the highlight of your week?
Um, it was a fun week. So, there are 2 highlights...1. going to the park with the girls. And, 2. Yardwork...it's becoming a means of relaxation for me. Plus, the final result is fantastic.

gray...it's an oversized Polo sweatshirt

I went to Aiden's baseball game a couple weeks ago but it was canceled. I've been to 3 major league parks...original Busch stadium, new Busch stadium, and the stadium in Arlington, Texas where the Texas Rangers play (don't remember the name).

14. What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?
Why isn't Cory getting up with Adelle? I got up at 1:00 a.m.

right this second, nothing is irritating me. But, my shoulders are sore.

Well, It’s been a while since I posted anything to my blog…a month to be exact! We have been so busy! I got a new computer, which has taken me a while to get up and running. Ugh! As much as I love a new computer, it’ such a pain to get everything loaded and moved from the old one.

Here are some recent photos of little miss thang! She has graduated to a big girl car seat, which is so unbelievable! She surpassed the length restriction for the infant carrier. That’s ok…she was getting too heavy to carry and that thing anyway. I’m not going to lie though…i shed a few tears when I packed the old car seat away in storage. :( I cannot believe she’ll be 8 months old next week! Time is just going way too fast.

This is my attempt at trying to get a picture of Adelle, Daisy, and MoJo. Yeah right!!! All MoJo wanted to do was lick Adelle (what's new?). Daisy just wanted to pose and be a good girl. And, Adelle...well, she just wanted MoJo to stop licking her. It was a riot!

Colton doesn't know what to think of Adelle. Adelle was beating up on poor Colton on Easter. I think he might be a little frightened of her! During the course of the day, Adelle managed to head butt Colton with her forehead right into his cheek bone. (That was totally my fault)! :( Adelle lost her balance and "sprung" forward into Colton. It didn't phase her a bit. But, dang, poor Colton was UPSET. I felt so bad for him. Adelle also "slapped" Colton in the face while we were trying to get a picture of the two of them. We later discovered that Colton got his first tooth!! That was exciting! Here are a few pics from the day.

Well, today Adelle had her 6 month checkup with Dr. Graham (who we totally love). Adelle is weighing in at 18 lbs 5.5 oz (80th percentile) and 29 inches long (>97th percentile)!!!!! She is a monster! Dr. Graham said she was simply "perfect." We already knew that though! Adelle is 1 pound away from a big girl car seat. I think I'm in denial about that. It's just amazing how fast the time goes after a child comes into the picture. As you will see in the photos below, Adelle is sitting up now all by herself. I swear this happened overnight. She is eating baby food now too. Well, actually she is little miss picky eater. The next couple of months ought to be interesting. Oh well, it's clear from her recent stats that she is not missing a meal. That's for sure.
Here is a sneak peak at Adelle's 6 month photo shoot last Sunday! She was just as sweet as could be! My very good friend from high school, Annette, took these photos for us. She did an amazing job! We couldn't be happier!

As I am sitting here on the computer, Adelle has fallen asleep in my lap. This has NEVER happened!! As a matter of fact, Adelle is a stinker when it comes to napping. It's hard to believe that Adelle is already 4 months old. It's crazy how time flies. Well, the last couple of weeks have been sort of rough. Adelle is getting over pneumonia! Poor little thing has been feeling yucky for almost 2 weeks now. But, she is much better. I am ready to get a good night's rest. She hasn't been sleeping very well for the last 3 weeks, mainly because she has trouble breathing through her nose and she's coughing a bit. But, like I said, she's much better. Here are a few pics from the last couple of weeks.

No, I didn't forget about my blog...

Well, it's been over a month since my last post!! Time just got the best of me. So much has happened since my last update. I wouldn't even begin to know where to start. So, I just start off with the New Year. I went back to work last week on January 5th. It was a very tough week to say the least. I missed my little Adelle so much! Thank God we are busy at work right now because I wonder if I would have made it if the days went by slow. I am fortunate to be able to work 3 days a week for now until I get into the swing of things. I'm just not willing to give up every weekday with Adelle just yet. I'm not sure I'll ever be ready to do that.

Adelle is 3 1/2 months old already. I can hardly believe it!! Time has flown by. I can't wait for warmer weather and longer daylight!!! She is 13 1/3 pounds now...growing like a weed. She is such a "chatter box" these days, which is so entertaining. Check out this video clip from last week. She was just chatting away. So, I snuck up and shot a video...it was great!

This past Tuesday, Adelle went to see the pediatrician for her 2 month check-up. She is now 11 lbs and 7 oz and 24.5 inches long! She's in the 65th percentile for weight and the 96th percentile for length. I think we are going to have a basketball player! She got 3 shots...2 in one thigh and 1 in the other :( She cried with each stick. But, as soon as I picked her up, she was fine...tuff girl. Here is a picture of her with her BRIGHT orange band aids.
P.S. In case anyone is wondering why her diaper is brown...these diapers are chlorine-free and environmentally friendly. We won 6 months of these diapers on Amazon...woo hoo! Free diapers are good.

Adelle has been "talking" quite a bit lately. It's the cutest thing EVER. However, I can't quite seem to get it on video. She's not an "on demand" type of gal. This is what happened today when we had a recording session. By the way, this was just after I dressed her in a clean outfit (due to a diaper blowout - yucky). I'll keep trying......

Adelle is 8 weeks old today. She likes to make cute sounds...I think she is figuring out that she has a voice not only meant for screaming and crying! LOL! She loves to snuggle and be held, which is fun. However, it makes it a bit difficult to get anything done. Oh well! I figure she won't be this little and cuddly forever. So, I'll take it now. I was lucky enough to snap a picture of her smiling today!! Isn't she so sweet!?!?
