Vacation

The first week of June, Tammy and I traveled to Maryland to visit our cousin, Shawn, and her family. Shawn was a bridesmaid in our wedding and Gaby, her daughter, was my flower girl. Tammy brought Ella and I brought Adelle. It was an amazing trip! We had such a fun visit. Shawn and David were such fabulous hosts. They have two daughter's, Gaby (8) and Julianna (almost 6). They were both so great with Adelle, especially Gaby. She was Adelle's little babysitter. Really, she was such a big help with Adelle. She made it so much easier on me, considering Adelle is now mobile. Julianna and Ella quickly became friends and played all weekend together. All the girls had such a great time, including me, Tammy, and Shawn....oh yeah, and David. I'm not sure how he survived all the estrogen in that house. But, he did. He's a fantastic cook! Friday night he brought home a bunch of fresh crabs. Oh man, they were good! Shawn made margaritas as well, which were AMAZING!!!! Saturday night, David made the BEST BBQed chicken. It was Carolina-style BBQ, which is my new favorite. I know he gave me the recipe. however, after a couple of those marguritas, I cannot remember it for the life of me. The only thing I remember for sure is vinegar. Anyway, we did more than eat on our trip ;) It rained for the first two days that we were there, which was perfectly fine. Their home was so enjoyable and relaxing, I condidered it a resort. Check out Shawn's blog...Life at Buttercup Farm. There are some beautiful photos of their home on the blog. It's a 100+ year old farm house that they have renovated for the last 13 years. The word "renovated" doesn't really due it justice!!!! It's on 4 acres and simply, beautiful. They have created a BEAUTIFUL HOME. Also, check out Shawn's post from June 5th....The Best House Guest. Yes, our little Adelle was the topic of Shawn's post that day...very cool!

Carol, our wonderful daycare provider for Adelle, emailed me the following today, "ok, today I laid Adelle down for her nap, she never cried, I didn't hear her so I went in to check on her, about 10 minutes later. this is what I found. She has turned into Cory, sleeping sitting up!!!! I laid her down and she kept sleeping. rofl"

20 questions

It's Sunday morning and Adelle got up this morning about 7:00 a.m...not bad! We played, walked around the yard a couple times, and played fetch with MoJo with a log from the wood pile. And, yes, MoJo plays fetch with logs. I swear, he's a Lab stuck in a Boxer's body. Now, I'm the only one in the house that is awake, including the dogs. So, I have been tooling around on the computer and came across "20 Questions."

This installment of 20 Questions was found/borrowed/swiped from a blog that I came across on Steph's blog, "Someday I'll get there." I'm not big on these things, but I liked this one.

1. What are the names of the kids you used to babysit?
I can see their faces clear as day. But, I seriously cannot remember their names.

2. Do you prefer hot sandwiches or cold sandwiches?
Both. Hot in the winter and cold in the summer, generally.

3. What was the highlight of your week?
Um, it was a fun week. So, there are 2 highlights...1. going to the park with the girls. And, 2. Yardwork...it's becoming a means of relaxation for me. Plus, the final result is fantastic.

4. What color shirt are you wearing?
gray...it's an oversized Polo sweatshirt

5. What was your favorite subject in school?

not much...

June 3rd, my wedding anniversary

Generally, no.

12. When was the last time you were at a baseball game? And how many major league ball parks have you been in?
I went to Aiden's baseball game a couple weeks ago but it was canceled. I've been to 3 major league parks...original Busch stadium, new Busch stadium, and the stadium in Arlington, Texas where the Texas Rangers play (don't remember the name).

13. Fireworks: take them or leave them?
Take them

14. What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?
Why isn't Cory getting up with Adelle? I got up at 1:00 a.m.

16. What is irritating you now?
right this second, nothing is irritating me. But, my shoulders are sore.

midnight

Oprah, The Biggest Looser, The Real Housewives of OC, NY, & NJ...hated the Atlanta show!

yes, typically probably pretty easily.

On Tuesday, Natalie and I took all the girls (Adelle, Bianca, and Skylar) to the park for a picnic and some good old-fashioned fun. Adelle and I hadn’t seen Skylar and Bianca in…well, I’ll just say TOO long! We had a lot of fun! Here are a few pictures.

It’s been a while…

Well, It’s been a while since I posted anything to my blog…a month to be exact!  We have been so busy!  I got a new computer, which has taken me a while to get up and running.  Ugh!  As much as I love a new computer, it’ such a pain to get everything loaded and moved from the old one.

 

Here are some recent photos of little miss thang!  She has graduated to a big girl car seat, which is so unbelievable!  She surpassed the length restriction for the infant carrier.  That’s ok…she was getting too heavy to carry and that thing anyway.  I’m not going to lie though…i shed a few tears when I packed the old car seat away in storage. :( I cannot believe she’ll be 8 months old next week!  Time is just going way too fast.
